In sphagnum bog at the Bog trail in Algonquin Park adjacent to the Visitor centre. White stipe longer than other species, and cap colour more deeply apple red. Shallowly sunken cap, convex becoming plane. Slippery and sticky when wet. Raised bump lines over margin. Flesh white, gills white, attached. Stipe brittle snapping cleanly.
