Found in a park lawn that is contiguous with the area where I collected the specimens for my previous Observation (427020) – which have been identified by consensus as Pan. Cyanescens. These specimens are smaller and did not have reactive blue bruising from being handled, but did have faint but noticeable blue areas at the very base of the stipe which was visible prior to being collected. I’ve found other mushrooms that are macroscopically similar to these growing in residential lawns a few miles away. There always seem to be mushrooms that resemble Panaeolus Cinctulus or Foenisecii growing in the same lawns, but most of those do not exhibit the blueish coloring at the base – typically it has been specimens with dry-cracked golden-brown caps that have the bluish coloration at the base.
