Observation 4453: Pholiota terrestris Overh.

When: 2007-10-12

Collection location: Menlo Park, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

Specimen available

Still lots and lots of these around, in the irrigated lawns, and in the landscaping under trees. Kinda neet seeing them come up almost color-less, and then turn light brown, and shaggy, and then the gill going deep brown in age. The caps are always sitcky/slimy though, esp. right after the lawns are watered.
