Scratching report @Alan

Hi Alan, I went back and scratched this polypore. I don’t know if I would call it staining, but scratching with a key or fingernail leaves a distinctive mark which is hard/impossible to delete.
Mark is dark in color, greyish, almost black, like it’s seen in the two pictures I just uploaded.

Tree is likely willow, and it’s dead. Roots are completely outside like it’s ripped from the ground by storm or something.

It was funny I was wondering how I got to a point in life where I am scratching polypores, meanwhile trying to hide from local peasants, they would just never understand.
