Cap reddening to blackening in 3% KOH. Remnants of a fibrillose veil on young, dried specimens. Spores brown, ellipsoid, slightly flattened on one side, verrucose, 8-9.5 × 5-6 uM. Slightly dextrinoid in Melzers. Cheilocystidia capitate.
