Your specimen provided a surprise under the microscope. When you dried it, it was producing some giant spores with about double the volume of normal spores…indicating that some basidia were 2-sterigmate. Early in sporulation, a number of amanitas pull this trick. You’re material, image, and the spore data have all been merged into the techtab at
