I have genetics on the brain. painful condition. my eye hurts too, for some reason…;)

BTW gang, Gary/Paul’s photo was indeed a deadringer for this obsie. Barring a better suggestion, I’m going with Peniophora albobadia.

I referred to the description in MycoBank that matched the field characters. THere was no molecular work done on Gary’s specimen.

this crust is really thin, plus if you enlarge it you can see that it has ragged edges. I’ll hang onto the stick tho and see what it might grow up to be.
