The last two weeks have been absolutely fantastic for us. We found lots of unusual boletes and Lactarius. For example, Boletus roseopurpureus was a first in Quebec. Boletus roxanae was only known from three other stations. We also found Leccinum griseonigrum, Gyroporus purpurinus, Chalciporus piperatoides, Boletus luridus (second mention in Quebec, first last year) Amanita onusta (twice, very uncommon in Quebec), Agaricus subrufescens and many more rare fungi. I imagine that Cortinarius season will be crazy as well. Our Quebec foray starts tomorrow, and the woods in Quebec City are filled with mushrooms according to the locals. It should be wonderful.
