1. (Regarding the pileus margin) being border-decorated with veil fragments.
Note: This taxonomic character is not as stable as one might like. Due to environmental factors like rain and wind it is not uncommon to find a mushroom that “should” have an appendiculate cap but doesn’t.
2. Showing appendages or protruding parts. This term may refer to tooth-like remains of a veil or to setulae of spores.
