1. Antifungal medicines are used to treat human fungal infections, which most commonly affect skin, hair, and nails. An antifungal agent kills fungi or inhibits their growth. Antifungals that kill fungi are called fungicidal while those that merely inhibit their growth are called fungistatic. Very similar compounds are used on many crops to reduce plant fungal diseases while increasing yield.
