Glossary Term: Germ Slit

(In reference to a spore)

If the cell wall of an individual spore is divided from one end to the other, this is called a germ slit (meaning there’s a line travelling from one pore end to another pore end). Alternatively a slit does not have to reach the full length of the spore.
