This term is used to describe organized fungal tissues. It means, literally, to weave with infusion – an intimately woven tissue. Two types of plectenchyma are described: Prosenchyma (approaching or almost a tissue), and pseudoparenchyma (meaning a false plant tissue or resembling plant tissue).
