Notes: Pangi, is a narrow valley of Himachal, on the border of Jammu and Kashmir state in India on one side, Chamba valley of Himachal on the south and Kullu valley towards the east. The Chandrabhaga river runs through the middle of the valley, fed by the numerous tributaries from the small side valleys. A difficult terrain with peaks rising up to more than 5000 metres, surrounding it on all sides. The valley is being criss-crossed with the roads, all being built simultaneously, making the place dry and dusty. The unsystematic road building has led to landslides and debris dumping, causing a massive loss to the flora and fauna of this place.
