General Description:

Coombe Abbey is a country park located just outside of and to the east of Coventry in Warwickshire, England.


Habitat Description:

A variety of interesting habitats are available here, including various different woodlands, some meadows, manicured gardens etc.
Woodlands include many deciduous and also conifer type trees.
There is an arboretum that also includes some redwoods.
The wildflower meadows also have a number of coppices.


Interesting Species:

Amanita muscaria, Macrolepiota, Collybia, Polypores and others.
This is a well known area for fungi forays etc.


Notes:

The park itself consists of the grounds of the abbey building, which is now a hotel. The park is managed by Coventry City Council and is a public park. There is a large pay-and-display car park available near the entrance to the grounds.
