Description In Latin/English Mix:

Pileus 1.5-2 cm. latus, ex hemisphaerico-applanatus,umbilicatus, margine striatulus, levis, glaber, hygrophanus, purpureo-fuscus, sicco expallens; lamellae subconfertae, 2-5 mm. latae, planae, postice adnato-subdecurrentes, umbrinae; stipes aequalis, tenuis, 1-5-2 cm. longus, 1I5 mm. crassus, saepe curvatus, glabriusculus, purpureo-brunneus, fistulosus; pleurocystidia cylindraceo-ventricosa, 40-65 × 9-1511; cheilocystidia 30-65 X 9-121t; sporae late ellipsoideo-ovoideae, fusco-violaceae, 6-7-5 × 4-4’55t. Fig. io1.
Hab. 2000 m., ad terram arenosam, El Avila, Dto. Federal, 13.6.1958, Dennis1048 (typus).

The fungus has the air of P. atrorufabut differs in its abundant large pleurocystidia. The spores are smaller than those of P. lateritia (Murr.) A. H. Sm., from Jamaica.
