Notes on Taxonomy: [Edit]

The species in this section are characterised by a matt, glabrous pileus without obvious radial structure, a rather strong to very strong, unpleasant chemical smell reminiscent of radish, strong perfume or strongly scented flowers, and the frequent occurrence of clamp-connections in the pileipellis and pilei trama.

Species in this section include: Tricholoma lascivum, Tricholoma sulphurescens, Tricholoma album, and Tricholoma stiparophyllum.

The species assigned to sect. Lasciva is in our analysis divided among two terminal clades (Fig. 2), one containing species with non-yellowing context close to T. lascivum, the other species with yellowing context.
