Immature fruiting bodies egg-shaped, pink or light purple/violet in color, 3-6 cm diameter.
Mature fruiting bodies phallus-shaped, stipe white, spongy, hollow; cap reticulate, pitted, ridged, covered with olive-green glebal spore mass; volva cup-like, retaining pink color, or browning in age. Odor may be putrid or pleasant, depending on your sensibilities.
