X. viriduloumbrina should still be a good species

But yes, X. somloënsis has been synonymized with X. stenophylla for a while.

I can’t find any mention of the synonymy in Recent Lichen Literature or on the latest (admittedly outdated) version of Esslinger’s North American checklist.

[EDIT: Oh! I see. Hinds listed somloensis/stenophylla as “misapplied” names. I can see why. They have identical chemistry and similar overall morphology. But definitely not the same species. X. viriduloumbrina is a much looser, “leggier” species in my experience.]

Jason, in Macrolichens of New England they have stenophylla and somloensis as synonyms for this species, but I am noticing all three on CNALH. Any idea what is going on with these three? Thanks!
