Sarcomyxa is in the Hygrophoraceae.
Nowhere near Panellus (Mycenaceae).
serotina and stipticus are in the same genus, that genus becomes super polyphyletic.

I see that MycoBank #433470 shows Panellus serotinus as the current name, despite the strangeness in the date. Cf. Index Fungorum record 433470
Can someone explain the date oddity (“1889 (1950)”) and why MO should prefer Sarcomyxa serotina?

Both MB & IF still have:
- Panellus serotinus as the current name,
- both Panellus and Sarcomyxa in Mycenaceae
(And for Sarcomyxa serotina, IF says “Nom. inval., Art. 35.2 (Melbourne)”).
