Pileus
5-8 cm broad, light yellow, densely covered in fibrillose squamules that are not erect. Context white to yellow, thicker at disc than margin; bitter taste; KOH discoloring the flesh brown to orange, FeSO4 olive at the gill line.

Lamellae
Adnate, close, narrow, clay to tawny, olivaceous.

Stipe
3.5-8 cm long, 8-14 mm thick, equal, rarely ventricose, whitish. veil forming a sun-membranous annulus.

spores
(8.5-) 9-13 X (5-) 6-7.5. Ellipsoid, fusoid to sublimoniform in face view, inequilateral in profile, coarsely verrucose, no germ pore, pale orange almost yellow in KOH, dextrinoid.

27-30 X 6-8, ventricose.
