Cap: 4-13 cm wide, orbicular to convex to flat, glabrous, glutinous blackish brown at first becoming olivaceous brown, margin paler; flesh white, tinted gray near the pellicle, thick; odor and taste mild.
Gills: adnate to subdecurrent, subdistant, gluten covered in button stage, white to cream colored.
Stipe: 4-9 cm long, 1-2 cm thick, equal, solid, surface glutinous below from the slime veil, apex dry, silky to scabrous with an obscure annular zone where the slime ends, white to pale brownish.
