Medium to large gilled mushroom with central stipe lacking an annulus or volva, sinuate gill connection, pink spores, substrate: soil. One of the three largest families of gilled mushrooms with almost 1500 species. spores have even cyanophilic walls and look angular in polar view due to ornamentations arising from the epicorium of the cell wall.1 2
