Sporocarps scattered or densely arranged, long-stalked, total height 1.5-2.5 mm. Sporotheca globose, nodding, reddish ochraceous, 0.25-0.35 mm diam. Hypothallus brown, very inconspicuous. Stalk dark red brown, red brown by TL, especially towards the tip, longitudinally furrowed, strongly twisted and bent, tapered upwards, up to 2.2 mm long. Peridium persistent as a small basal disk, with sparse radial granulation of calcic granules, often merged into ribs, the larger part present as a regular peridial net with thickened nodes which are connected with each other forming triangular to quadrangular meshes, the nodes rounded to elliptical, relatively large, densely adorned with calcic granules, appearing star-like due to many free-ending threads, which often repeatedly branch. Calcic granules very pale brown, with a red-brown centre, thus resembling frog spawn, 3-4 µm diam. Spore-mass reddish ochraceous. Spores pale brown, verruculose and with a few larger warts, 9-10 µm diam. Plasmodium unknown.
