Name: Clitocybe squamulosa
Author: (Pers.) P. Kumm.
Citation: Führ. Pilzk. (Zwickau): 123 (1871)
Preferred Synonyms:Infundibulicybe squamulosa (Pers.) Harmaja
Index Fungorum lists this as Clitocybe squamulosa (Pers.) Fr., but this is incorrect. Fries put squamulosa in Agaricus and did not transfer it to Clitocybe. Kummer made the transfer.
The latest word on Clitocybe is that C. nebularis is now the accepted type and C. gibba and it’s close relatives like C. squamulosa get their very own genus, Infundibulicybe. See “Notes on Clitocybe s. lato (Agaricales)” by Harmaja for more details.
