Coprinellus bipellis routinely keys to Coprinus domesticus in both Mushrooms Demystified and the Kees Uljé website. Arora mentions an unidentified variant on ashes and has a photo of it on page 350. Flora Agaricina Neerlandica Vol VI keys the species and has a complete description. So far (12/2007), all of the collections from Sebastopol have been found in a fire pit.
