For those not familiar with the genus, Flammulasters are small brown or very pale brown spored mushrooms growing on vegetal debris and wood, typically with a flocculose cap cuticle made up of round cells.

According to Index Fungorm Flammulaster muricatus is correct latin. However, the species was published by Watling as Flammulaster muricata. The two names definitely refer to the same taxon, the vast majority of Flammulasters have a masculine species name and Flammulaster muricata loses the ‘Google Test’, so I am deprecating it.
