“Cap 6-9 cm, glabrous, slightly vicid, moderate red 15 to pale flesh-pink, margin striate, peels 2/3. Gills broad, close, a few forked at base, white to cream. Stem white, smooth. Odor nil. Taste mild. Spores cream (C-D), 6.5-9 × 5.6-7 microns, warts 0.7-1.3 micron, some isolated, others connected into an incomplete reticulum. Pleurocystidia clavate or acute, SV+ [sulphovanillin reaction positive]. Under oaks.”
