Brief Description:

Sporocarps gregarious, often in large colonies, erect or nodding, 1.5-2 mm total height. Sporotheca hazelnut brown, 0.7-1 mm diam. Hypothallus dark brown, common to a colony. Stalk subulate, plicate, 50-65% of the total height, the lower part dull dark brown to black, brown above. Peridium with the lower 33% as a well-developed cup with fine concentric wrinkles bearing dark calcic granules, c. 1 µm diam. especially in the upper part, the cup margin even and with long, regularly spaced and rather closely-set teeth that are connected to the threads of the net, the nodes small, thickened, suborbicular, occasionally paired and then elongated, each node with 3-6 radiating threads, very few of the threads ending free. Spore-mass hazelnut brown. Spores pale buff, 6.5-7.5 µm diam., densely pale-verruculose. Plasmodium grey.
