THALLUS: grayish to yellowish-gray, roughened and cracked, dull, pruinose
APOTHECIA: not immersed, lecanorine, disc pinkish-orangish, heavily pruinose
SPORE: 1 per ascus, 130-210 × 28-64 µm (Nash) or 150-300 × 35-95 µm (Brodo), wall 1-layered and smooth, 2-8 µm thick
CHEMISTRY: cortex UV- or UV+ yellow (lichexanthone), medulla C+ and KC+ red (lecanoric acid)
