The artists currently known as “Collybia” plectophylla and “Marasmius” rhyssophyllus may rightly belong in Tricholomopsis. In any event, the genus is certainly more tropically diverse than currently realized, and the very tropical taxa ignored in studies undertaken thus far might help answer what family the genus ought to end up in.
