Diagnostic Description:

UPPER SURFACE: grayish to brownish, shiny to somewhat dull, no soredia/isidia/lobules, margins crisped and downturned, lobes to 12 to 15 mm wide
LOWER SURFACE: veins distinct, raised; rhizines slender, pointed, along veins
APOTHECIA: red-brown, vertically folded


Look Alikes:
P. neopolydactylon lobes broader (over 20 mm), margins not crisped or wavy, surface often broadly blistered
