General Description:

All parts red to pinkish red. Fertile surface paler than the cap.

Cap: convex to plane or somewhat funnel shaped.

Hymenium: blunt edged gill like ridges, cross veined. 1.5-4 cm broad

Stipe: equal, smooth, pale at the base, 2-5 cm long

Eastern North America


Habitat:

Under broad leaf trees such as aspen, beech, oak and hickory.
