General Description:

Small to medium sized, fleshy, spore color dull brown; usually terrestrial; usually brownish; caps dry, wooly, scaly, or radially fibrillose; odor usually fruity or spermatic; no ring, veil absent or fibrillose or cobwebby.1 2


Habitat:

All ectomycorrhizal, so near conifer, oak; especially Pseudotsuga menziesii (Douglas-fir).2
