General Description:

Cap:

  • Color: ochre-greyish ochre (Arora1); yellowish underneath the brown material, fading (Kuo2); ochre to smoky-ochre (Lincoff3); ochre to yellowish brown (Rogers5); greyish-brown, light-brown to apricot-brown over a dull yellowish ground color, palest at the margin, fading overall in age (Wood & Stevens6)
  • Size: 0.5-4 cm (Arora1; Rogers5; Lincoff3); 1-4 cm (Kuo2); 2-6 cm (Mishra4); 1-5 cm (Wood & Stevens6)
  • Shape: planoconvex with an inrolled margin at first, becoming nearly flat and centrally depressed (Kuo2); convex to flat, sunken in center, margin incurved at first (Lincoff3); deeply funnel-shaped in center (Mishra4); broad, convex, broadly so in age, often with a depressed disc; margin incurved at first, becoming decurved, occasionally wavy (Wood & Stevens6)
