General Description:

Forming Crust like growth 10cm or more often covering large portions of hardwood and conifer, well decayed logs. No pore surface, light yellow to cinnamon red. Surface wrinkled, wavy, fells waxy when fresh but becomes hard when dry.


Distribution:

Found through out N America In West Virginia very common in late fall after rains


Habitat:

Found on well decompose logs and stumps usually without bark, of hardwoods and conifers Usually with moss and lichen growth upon them.
