Observation 10453: Suillus spraguei (Berk. & Curtis) Kuntze

When: 2008-06-30

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Bolete, small Cortinarius, small Lepiota, Amanita, and a few other possibilities occurred to me. Gymnopilus and Pholiota seem unlikely as these tend to grow on wood, and this one seems not to be.

It’s long gone. It was photographed back in June. Mostly I don’t disturb them, just photograph them in situ. (I know this limits how much identifying information is available.)

Higher res. photo.

I would be good to see a higher res photo, and more of the mushroom, need to see the underside, and the complete base.
