Observation 10497: Clitocybe (Fr.) Staude

When: 2008-08-18

Collection location: Windsor Trail, Pecos Wilderness, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found under spruce and aspen, at 10,000 feet. There were ones like these at the CMS Mycoblitz, that were named Clitocybe dealbata, although those were much larger. I’m not sure if these are they. They had some kinda of odor, but I couldn’t tell what, slightly sweet and spicy, but slightly. Not really almond or anise, or some other odor I might look for, and not musty-stinky.
