Observation 10519: Psathyrella (Fr.) Quél.

When: 2008-08-18

Collection location: Windsor Trail, Pecos Wilderness, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found under aspen. Some unknown Psathyrellas here. In the book Mushrooms of Colorado there is a comment about clustered Psathyrellas under aspen that names Psathyrella circellatipes. The book only mentions about 5 Psathyrellas total, so I’m not sure this comment really means much, plus it says these have slender stipes, and I’m not sure this is the case here… It is all too uncertain to put a name on these…

Since you find it hard to hang a name on them. :)
