When: 2008-05-09

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Fist-sized, on a dead birch tree. These are ubiquitous in hardwood forests in Ontario and overwinter, so they can be found the whole year round. Ones like these on tall birch stumps can be found even in mid-winter, too high up to have been buried by snow.
