Observation 10693: Marasmius Fr.

When: 2008-08-19

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

On the same day I found two of these tiny guys with wire-thin stems growing on wood, in fairly widely separated places in the forest. I think one is on pine and the other is definitely on birch. The first one is accompanied by some Chlorociboria aeruginascens (obs. 10692).

Two new images, the fourth and fifth, show the second mushroom after three days, so on August 22 rather than August 19. The cap had opened up somewhat in the intervening time. (Compare the third and fifth images.)
