When: 2012-08-26

Collection location: Pike’s Creek Reservoir, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave W (Dave W)

No specimen available

I was thinking of proposing “L. volemus var. flavus”, but that species appears to have a range that ends well to the south of the collection site.

Plenty of sticky white latex that stained brown.

I found plenty of the typical orange/brown volemus along this same trail. I posted these because I thought it may generate this discussion!

I thought, “cool, it’s that yellow volemus variety.” But the NA milky book lists the northern most distribution for var. flavus as South Carolina.
