This bolete was HUGE — the cap the size of the top half of my head or so. See the last photo — that brown thing in the distance is the mushroom’s cap, visible from over twenty feet away.

Brown top, cream everything else, and in rather shabby condition. Near spruce in Acadian forest.

I beleive that this one grows with hardwoods, but I wonder which ones?
