Observation 10986: Russula Pers.

When: 2008-09-03

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Notes:
From a distance this almost looked like a plum sitting on the ground, though no plum trees grow there.

Plum-colored cap with white flesh, gills, and stem — looks like a Russula to me.
