Observation 1130: Fomitopsis mounceae J.-E. Haight & Nakasone
When: 2006-11-25
Collection location: Sanctuary Forest, near Whitethorn, Humboldt Co., California, USA [Click for map]
No specimen available
Notes:
I was asked to teach a class as part of the Sanctuary Forest hikes and docent training program. Overall it was very poor collecting in the Briceland area this year. I believe the reason was an early cold snap which shutdown most of the mycorhizal species. This list are species that were actually found in the Sanctuary Forest. There is a separate list for specimens that were brought to the class for identification.
