Note brown marks on upper stem, characteristic of Cortinarius mushrooms that have begun dropping spores, as these are brown and some stick to the remains of the cortina coating the top of the stem.
Fourth photo shows the only two specimens I saw, as they appeared in context before I disturbed them. First two photos are of the larger specimen. Third is of the smaller. Second photo shows the strongest evidence that these are cortinarii.
