Observation 11529: Rickenella fibula (Bull.) Raithelh.

When: 2008-09-24

Collection location: Southeast Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

I may be wrong in my identification of this fungus. The photos show a mostly white cap, but I swear it was mostly yellowish-orange when I took the pictures. Growing in mossy grass, tiny, stipe rather long for the cap with a tiny diameter, orange as well. Gills descending. Associated in grassy lawn with lots of moss near Quercus palustra (but I don’t think this one is mycorrhizal).
