Observation 11599: Neolecta irregularis (Peck) Korf & J.K. Rogers

When: 2008-09-25

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Spathularia or maybe Neolecta; or, less likely, one of the smaller Clavaria relations. Tiny (3mm across and maybe up to 1cm high) with paler stem (not always clear in the photos). I found six or seven of these scattered in pine duff in a pine-dominated, not very damp part of the woods (the first two photos are of the same pair).

There may have been more, of course, that I did not see.

In the third photo, a tiny conical LBM can be seen growing close by.
