crust lichen, on exposed calcareous rock on top of Valencia Peak (near sea)
THALLUS: lobate, lobes 0.5-1.5 mm wide, v deeply cracked, convex to warty, pale tan to brown, darker at margin, densely light pruinose, cracks dark to almost black despite medulla being white, K-, C-, KC-
MEDULLA: white, K-, C-, KC+ pink faint and brief
ALGAE: green
APOTHECIA: immersed to flush, black, flat to v convex, to 0.4 mm wide, no exciple(?!); epihymenium gray-brown; hymenium clear, ~50 µm tall; hypothecium dark brown
SPORE: 8 per ascus, gray, 10 × 6-7 µm, septate, slightly constricted at septum, walls evenly thickened
