Observation 11665: Lichen P. Micheli

When: 2008-09-29

Collection location: Southeast Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Leafy-like lichen, growing on small-diameter dead twig which had blown off a Quercus palustra. Photos show both above, and from the base look up. When I get these in focus, I can see things I haven’t noticed before. In this case, the kind of oak-shaped leaf form, which might be advantageous for a lichen growing on an oak tree, don’t you think?

Just so hard to tell on all these things without more detail.
