THALLUS: flat rosette, lobes about 0.5 mm wide, medium gray w/ brownish tinge, shiny, even color (but distinctly browner in center), smooth, flat, soralia borne sporadically on margin, few actual cilia but many sharp short grey to black tipped black rhizines protruding from below, black below w/ dense rhizines, rhizines unbranched, K-, C-, KC-

ALGAE: green
